News from the village and valley

Vuillafans is a small village of just over 800 inhabitants, nestled in the heart of the Loue Valley…

The atmosphere is very special, with its calm, its shimmering colors in spring and autumn, its mysterious little streets, its remarkable "little nothings", for the keen eye, sometimes here an owl hidden in a wall, an inscription old one worth the detour…

Stroll freely in this small Comtoise town of character, which combines with the charm traces of the history of many modern assets (shops, activities, etc.).

Located on the banks of the magnificent Loue river, VUILLAFANS is a small Comtoise town of character, particularly touristy, crowned with rocks and dominated by the ruins of two feudal fortresses: Châteauvieux, left bank and Châteauneuf, right bank.

In the center of the village, the VUILLAFANS church dating from the 15th century appeals to us with the presence of a triple nave.

Old private mansions dating from the same period, including the house, known as Balthazar Gérard, which under Philip II assassinated the Prince of Orange, will catch your eye.

The old 17th century bridge as well as the numerous winegrowers' houses give a particular character to the village and deserve an in-depth visit.

VUILLAFANS has all the local shops on site ; You will find a mini market, a bakery and two restaurants there.

The village also has a doctor and a pharmacy, as well as a hairdressing salon.

You will find, for your moments of relaxation, a tennis court, a football field as well as a children's play area.

And the first weekend in July, don't miss the famous hill climb!
