Located on the banks of the magnificent Loue river, VUILLAFANS is a small Comtoise town of character, particularly touristy, crowned with rocks and dominated by the ruins of two feudal fortresses: Châteauvieux, left bank and Châteauneuf, right bank.
In the center of the village, the VUILLAFANS church dating from the 15th century appeals to us with the presence of a triple nave.
Old private mansions dating from the same period, including the house, known as Balthazar Gérard, which under Philip II assassinated the Prince of Orange, will catch your eye.
The old 17th century bridge as well as the numerous winegrowers' houses give a particular character to the village and deserve an in-depth visit.
